How do you prepair pomegranate?
After opening the pomegranate by scoring it with a knife and breaking it open, the arils (seed casings) are separated from the skin (peel) and internal white supporting structures (pith and carpellary membrane). Separating the red arils can be simplified by performing this task in a bowl of water, whereby the arils will sink and the white structures will float to the top. The entire seed is consumed raw, though the fleshy outer portion of the seed is the part that is desired.





I know it%26#039;s tacky to copy and paste from wikipedia...but this is something I recently learned. This may make getting the seeds out real easy, I haven%26#039;t tried it yet. Let me know if you do, I%26#039;d be curious to find out
Reply:cut it in half, hold a hlaf over an oepn bowl, whack it with a wooden spoon and the seeds will drop into the bowl
Reply:like ameena said, you are supposed to eat the flesh around the seeds. However, you might want to squeeze out the juice first. the juice is the main part of a pomegranate you want. make sure you have a good filter for the juice though. some of the pieces you don%26#039;t want to eat get into the juice.

Sure, washing the outside first is a good idea because who knows where it%26#039;s been on it%26#039;s journey.





One of my best friends used to do this:


sit in the hallway at school and meticulously take out every seed and put them on his shirt. 1/2 hour later, he%26#039;d have every single one removed, put them all into his mouth at once and %26quot;Mmmuummmummummmyummyummmummm...%26quot; chew it all up.
